Furious Susanna’s BUST-UP

Presenter Susanna Reid was left speechless when a guest on Good Morning Britain made the shocking suggestion that her co-host, Richard Madeley, should be paid more than her for doing exactly the same job.

The presenters had been discussing actor Olivia Colman’s claim that if she’d been a man named Oliver she would have received a ‘f**k of a lot more’ money for her roles. But it was when Ryan-Mark Parsons, who was formerly the youngest ever contestant on The Apprentice, joined the conversation that things took a turn. After branding Olivia, 50, ‘vulgar’ and saying she should ‘shut up’, Ryan-Mark, 24, quickly took aim at Susanna. Suggesting that Richard, 67, might be worth more than her, Ryan-Mark swiped, ‘Perhaps it’s Richard Madeley who should be earning more because he’s more entertaining.’ A shocked Susanna, 53, shot back, ‘How would you quantify that?’, prompting Ryan-Mark to reply, ‘Look at viewer reception – maybe when Richard is on he achieves higher ratings, I’m not sure. I’d have to speak to ITV about that but if he does... I don’t know!’

Worryingly, Richard remained noticeably silent during the tense discussion. In previous months, the rumour mill has been rife with claims of a feud between Susanna and Richard, particularly when Susanna snapped at him, ‘There is a woman here by the way,’ when he made a ‘man to man’ comment while speaking to an MP. Oh dear…

Richard and Susanna don’t always see eye to eye

LORRAINE’S HONOUR

Breakfast telly veteran Lorraine Kelly’s 40th year in broadcasting is off to a good start, as the presenter is set to be awarded one of BAFTAs highest honours for her outstanding contribution to television. Lorraine, 64, will be presented with the ‘Special Award’ at the forthcoming BAFTA Television Awards on 12 May. The star was surprised with the news live on her daytime show and later said, ‘It was a massive surprise, what an honour to be the recipient of the BAFTA Special Award.’ She continued, ‘A huge thanks to everybody I’ve worked with on-screen and behind the scenes over the years, the people who make Daytime TV are very special people. Now I have to go and look for a showstopping frock to wear.’ Congrats!

You look showstopping already, Lorraine!
