Gruelling hot yoga has been helping Claire Sweeney get in the shape of her life

In sparkling form for her new role

She’s just celebrated her 51st birthday and Claire Sweeney has plenty to smile about, showing off the incredible results of a new health regime that she’s been following to help her look her ‘physical best’.

The former Brookside star is currently rocking some fabulously risqué outfits for a cabaret show in London. And to get ready for the role, she threw herself into gruelling gym and yoga sessions, held in steamy 100 degree temperatures.

FEELING LIBERATED

‘I wear a fabulous catsuit! I find it really liberating that I’m going to get completely outrageous,’ she said before the tour. ‘This does all mean that I want to look my physical best. WEIGHT STRUGGLES

Claire, who is mum to Jaxon, seven, also cut down on alcohol and upped her yoga sessions. ‘I thought, you’ve got a great big belly, big thighs, come on and sort yourself out. I thought, that’s it, I’m going to get my pre-baby body back.’

She also used an old photo of herself as inspiration. ‘I looked back to when I used to host 60 Minute Makeover and I didn’t realise what good nick my physique was in. That was my goal. I had two pictures on my phone. One of me fat and one of how I wanted to look.’

The actress and singer has never been shy about her weight struggles. In 2009 she fronted a documentary, Claire Sweeney: My Big Fat Diet, in which she put o
