Nothing spells summer like a fresh salad – and TV’s Ruth Langsford has been sharing her best recipes with her followers of late. The 62-year-old star’s secret to diet success is prepping her meals the night before and Ruth has been tucking into an array of colourful, veg-packed breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

Not only is she eating more healthily, Ruth has also been telling fans she’s trying to up her water intake. Recently, the star shared a snap of a full water bottle, telling her 1 million Instagram followers, ‘Working from home so going to try and get through this bad boy.’

And it seems as though Ruth’s new healthy diet shake up is paying off, as the star looks glowing in her latest Instagram snaps and is having fun on photo shoots for her latest QVC range. Ruth continued her image overhaul with a new hair do too, telling fans, ‘Getting my Blonde on with the wonderful Mr @Joshwood. Such a lovely team… always fun!’

Ruth continued, ‘Eventually I went, “Ruth, just admit it, you’re now a size 14”, and I was fine with that. And now everything that is a 14 is tight. I eat healthily and go to the gym, but it’s just not shifting.’

Last year, the star completed the Couch to 5k challenge -
a programme that slowly increases running time over the course of nine weeks to reach a five kilometre goal. Despite the achievement, Ruth has admitted she hasn’t kept up running since. ‘I am a bit disappointed with myself because I put so much effort into the Couch to 5K - and it’s hard!’ Still, despite feeling fitter and healthier, Ruth did admit that running didn’t actually help her to lose any weight.

‘It helped everything in my life, I felt fitter,’ Ruth explained, ‘But I didn
