She’s looking healthier than ever – so how does Kate Garraway do it?

Then, 11 years ago (right) and now... a refreshed Kate

Broadcaster Kate Garraway looked incredible when she met Prince William to collect her MBE in June, and it wasn’t just her stylish cream outfit that fans praised. The 56-year-old ITV star glowed as she beamed alongside her husband, Derek Draper, for photos after she collected her accolade.

Kate tweeted afterwards, ‘I am so incredibly moved and humbled by the whole experience. It was so wonderful to see Derek’s determination to be there, so kind of the Prince of Wales to make it special for him and to recognise the work of Jake our incredible carer.’

Now I eat avocados obsessively because I found one of the diets was high in good fat, medium protein and zero sugar – which is a bit extreme for me. But eating avocados and low-sugar foods help keep my energy levels up.’

Entering the jungle, where meals can be restricted to rice and beans and gruelling challenges use up plenty of calories, Kate lost another stone. ‘I was a bit shocked when I got into the dressing room and looked in the mirror,’ Kate said of the extra weight loss, adding, ‘I was really eating in there as well, so rice and beans is kind of the way to go.’

SUPER SKINCARE

Kate has long preached about the benefits of a good skincare routine, saying, ‘I’ve learnt a lot from the famous people I’ve been lucky enough to interview. Sa
