SHOULD I GET A GENE TEST?

Q This has been a terrible year for me. I started it having a mastectomy for breast cancer and am finishing it having chemotherapy for bowel cancer. My oncologist has suggested that I be referred to a geneticist to see if there is a genetic link to my cancer, but I’m not sure I can face any more bad news. What do you think?

Personally, I think it is worth at least speaking to a geneticist who can give you the facts in order for you to make an informed decision about being tested.
