January is a tough month for everyone, and it seems that Coleen Nolan is finding things particularly difficult at the moment.

The star has always been unafraid to share even the most personal details of her life – and her honesty is just one reason she’s loved by Loose Women viewers. And now, the panellist has confessed that she’s had to take time off the show due to stress.

‘I’ve had a week off. I was getting a bit stressed, so many things happening,’ she said recently. ‘And I just thought [it’s] important for your mental health to just sometimes go, “I can’t do it this week.” And that’s what I did.’ She added, ‘And very kindly Loose Women let me do that and I was really looking forward to it, a nice, chilled-out week, not thinking about anything.’

But on a serious note, Coleen urged fans to follow her advice and take time out if things get too much. ‘If you’re feeling a bit stressed [even if it’s just] a week, or a couple of days, you need to take that break and regroup and do normal everyday things,’ she said. ‘Remember, think about you sometimes.’

FAMILY HEARTACHE

It’s hardly surprising that Coleen has been struggling lately, given that her sister Linda is currently living with incurable secondary cancer, which started in her hip, but has since spread to her liver and brain. Coleen also lost her sister Bernie to breast cancer back in 2013, while her other sister Anne was only recently given the all-clear after being diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time in 2020.

Opening up about her own worries over developing the disease, Coleen said, ‘Obviously I do worry about it, because it’s very much in my family, so it does make me think about it more than I ever did before any of them got breast cancer.’ She continued, ‘Before then I thought something like this would neve
