BUY FROZEN Frozen fruits and veg are often more affordable than fresh and have a longer shelf life, too. The fruit and vegetables still retain most of their nutritional value when frozen and so they are a great way to increase your nutrient intake.

NUTRIENT BOOST Some foods, like instant noodles, are cost-effective but have low nutritional value. Add dried noodles to a pot with miso paste, instead and add grated veg, or a handful of leafy greens like spinach to increase the nutritional value all while keeping the cost down.
