She’s been in the world of showbiz for over five decades. But despite her success and longevity in the industry, it seems that Linda Robson still worries that her career could end at any minute.

During a recent episode of Loose Women, Linda received a health check live on air by a doctor, during which she voiced her concerns.

After getting a skin tag that she was worried about checked over – which turned out to be harmless – Linda confessed that she’s also putting off a knee-replacement operation as she fears not being able to work.

‘I fell off an electric scooter last year and I ended up on my knees with my bum in the air and my dress over my head,’ she said. ‘I’ve got to have a knee replacement but I keep putting it off, I’ve cancelled two appointments.’ And admitting that the reason she’s delaying it is because she doesn’t want to miss out on work, she continued, ‘I’ve said, “I can’t come in today, I’ve got work!” Because I’m frightened I won’t be able to work. I’m going to be laid up and that.’ So it’s clear that losing her beloved career is something that weighs heavily on Linda’s mind.

Feeling insecure?

This isn’t the first time Linda has worried about her work. It seems her fears could have stemmed from an incident way back in 1997, when filming on ITV sitcom Odd Socks was halted after she collapsed with an acute attack of pancreatitis. Recalling the incident, Linda said, ‘I’d just started filming it and I got rushed into hospital with pancreatitis. They had to recast it and Lynda Bellingham took over my part. She was so lovely and sent me flowers, but at the time I can’t tell you how heartbroken I was. I thought, “That’s the end of my career. I’m never going to work again.”’

And last year, Linda admitted she feared her career was over after she dropped an expletive live on Loose Women. ‘The day that I said the F-word, I thought I was going to lose my job,’ she revealed. ‘I really did. I got into trouble over that. It was half-term, so kids were watching. When I got back to the green room, everyone was talking.’
