Gaby Roslin’s piece about keeping your inner child alive [17 October 2023 issue] reminded me of putting that into practice when I was in York last year. My husband, myself and two ladies from the Isle of Wight – who we met on the trip – went on the lovely carousel they had outside the Castle Museum. It was a wonderful ride that brought back lots of memories and we all had a good laugh. The only problem is that getting off is not so easy at our age!
