Remember The Fast Show? The groundbreaking TV comedy, with its many memorable catchphrases, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a UK tour that’s on until 14 April. Bloomin’ lovely

With its roots in the ‘flower power’ era of the 1960s, the RHS’s community gardening initiative, Britain in Bloom, is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

The RHS supports community gardening groups throughout the UK. They’re a great way to meet other people, and the resulting plants and flowers give everyone a lift. On this day in history

21 March 1973: BBC bosses banned all so-called teenybopper acts from appearing on Top of the Pops, including American heart-throb David Cassidy. The decision was made after young fans went wild during the singer’s performance on the show. First finding fame on TV sitcom The Partridge Family, David went on to become a pop idol, with hits including Daydreamer.
