Peloton’s head instructor shares her feelings on fillers, fitness as a new mum and how she likes to spend her rest days

STATS AGE: 40 JOB: VP/head instructor at Peloton WORKOUT MO: Spin and powerlifting WIND-DOWN SECRET: Meditation

Sweat

Exercising is how I spend most of my days. I find that movement is a way to heal and metabolise stress. I work out six days a week, for two to four hours a day. This tends to be a mix of Peloton’s running, cycling and strength classes, my own barbell work and heavy lifting and one long run with three or four additional runs a week.

Wear

I’ve tried a wide range of activewear over the years. Adam Selman leggings are amazing, but Peloton’s own label has the softest leggings that stay up no matter what, so I like to wear those when I run. Peloton’s shorts are great, too – Iran the New York City marathon in a pair. I also like Gymshark’s cute ombre colours, and GSTQ for layering. I live my life in athleisure, and I find that GSTQ’s pieces really elevate a post-gym look.

Nourish

I’m plant-based, so I only eat things that grow from the ground. I have a different smoothie every morning, and my other meals usually involve salads, beans, grains, nuts, avocado and tofu. I’ll also sometimes roast squash with lentils, or make coconut wraps.

Boost

I apply my make-up before beginning every workout: Peloton classes, marathons, ultras – everything. I do it for me.

I can look in the mirror without make-up and feel good, and if I want to put on some lipstick or a piece of jewellery, that’s okay, too. We have permission to do whatever it takes for us to feel good, and that’s certainly something that I’ve adopted in my life.
