It’s schmooze season, and not for the reason you think. Smoothies meet booze in these fruity cocktail recipes that nudge you closer to your five a day. Who said wellness couldn’t be festive?

01 Cucumber citrus smoothie Frozen marg

The smoothie: Add a handful of peeled orange slices, half a peeled lime, a few frozen mango chunks, a quarter of a cucumber (chopped) and some ice into a blender. Want to make it spicy? Throw in slices of jalapeño pepper. Splash in some lime juice; blend.

Make it a cocktail: Add a squeeze of simple syrup and 50ml of silver tequila into the blender. Taste and add more syrup or tequila if desired. Rim a glass with salt or sugar and pour in the liquid.

02 Dark berry smoothie Blackberry bourbon smash

The smoothie: Blend together 2 handfuls of frozen blackberries, then a handful each of frozen blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. Throw in a couple of mint leaves and some squeezes of lime juice and blend again.

Make it a cocktail: Pour the blended bev into a glass. Add a glug of soda water and 30ml of bourbon and mix with a spoon or straw. Drop a sprig of mint on
