1 MOSTAFA MOHAMED
1 Mohamed’s 93rd-minute goal, which combined speed, movement, touch and athleticism, sparked wild celebrations. Unfortunately for the Egyptians, Cape Verde equalised just moments later.
2 HASSAN AL HAYDOS
A goal that is often attempted but rarely converted, Al Haydos met a corner perfectly to volley home from the edge of the box. A sublime display of technique.
3 KEVIN PINA
Bebe stole the headlines in this game for his stunning 40-yard freekick, but Pina’s thunderous shot was an arguably even cleaner strike that, unlike Bebe’s, left the Mozambique keeper with absolutely no chance.
4 SEBASTIEN HALLER
The striker showed remarkable improvisation to convert Simon Adingra’s cross with the studs of his right boot, an ingenious finish worthy of clinching the trophy for the host nation.
5 NURIDDIN KHAMROKULOV
After Parvizdzhon Umarboev’s perfectly struck free-kick brought Tajikistan level with their first-ever Asian Cup goal, the tournament debutants sealed their place in the knockout rounds with a looping header from Khamrokulov to spark wild scenes.
6 MUHAMMED SANNEH
If VAR hadn’t disallowed this goal, which would have made it 3-3 in a quite astonising game, there would have been a riot. Quite how Sanneh expected to get away with palming the ball in is anyone’s guess, but his audacity is admirable.
7 ARTHUR MASUAKU
Even after afew viewings, we still can’t work out whether the ex-West Ham United man was trying to score this wide free-kick or simply mishit his cross.
8 NIZAR AL RASHDAN
Attackers Mousa Al Tamari and Yazan Al Naimat both scored key goals in Jordan’s run to the Asian Cup final, but midfielder Al Rashdan’s superb winner in the tournament’s most dramatic game was our favourite.
