The Montreal International Poetry Prize

The Montreal International Poetry Prize is a global poetry competition and non-profit organisation run by the Department of English at McGill University. The competition is open to entries from anywhere in the world, and the deadline is 15 May. Entries must be a single poem of 40 lines or fewer. The Rattle Poetry Prize 2024

The annual competition has a $15,000 first prize for a single poem.

Ten finalists will each receive $500, and be eligible for the $5,000 Reader’s Choice Award. All the finalists will be published in Rattle magazine. Additional poems from among the entries may also be offered publication.

The Rattle Poetry Prize is open to poets all over the world. The entry fee is a one-year subscription to Rattle ($30) and it covers up to four poems. There is no restriction on length. All poems must be original and unpublished.

The Crabbe Poetry Competition 2024

The competition from Sussex Poetry Society is celebrating its 70th anniversary.

The Crabbe Poetry Competition is for poems by writers born, educated or resident in Suffolk, Norfolk or Essex, or who are members of Suffolk Poetry Society.

There is a first prize of £500, a second prize of £250 and a third prize of £100, plus two highly commended prizes of £50. All winning and commended poems will be included in the 2024 Crabbe Poetry Prize Anthology. This year’s judge is Luke Wright.

All entries must be original, unpublished and no longer than 50 lines.

The entry fee is £4 per poem.

The closing date is 14 June.

Ware Poets Open Poetry Competition 2024

Win a £600 first prize in the contest that will be judged by Paul Stephenson.

Enter original, unpublished poems up to 50 lines in the 26th Ware Open Poetry Competition.

The prizes are £600, £300 and £150. There is also a special Sonnet Prize of £150 for the best sonnet submitted. Winners and shortlisted entries will be published in an anthology.

The entry fee is £5 per poem or £13 for three and £4 per poem thereafter.

The closing date is 30 June.
