Welcome to XStitch Magazine Issue 6, our first Mixtape issue! This issue is a cracker, as the absence of a specific theme allows us to share the creativity of our designer friends, and there are some terrific patterns for you to get stuck into - check out this rad Skater ‘zine design by PyroDogPins! We also welcome Arlene Cohen, aka Works by ABC, to the XStitch family and we think you’ll enjoy the patterns of her Egyptian Mixtape! The Mixtape is an opportunity for us to showcase how varied cross stitch design can be, and this is a truly eclectic mix, with something for everyone! Our international family of designers is in full effect as well, with submissions from Russian based SmartCrossStitch, PixlStitch from New Zealand and USA needlepoint legend Jenny Henry from in the mix! As Lord Libidan mentions in his lecture, it feels like a really exciting time for the world of cross stitch, and we hope that the magazine is playing a part in the zeitgeist. The results of our first Stitch of the Union survey have helped us identify our strengths and areas for improvement and it makes for some interesting reading!
