A step up
A few years ago, my neighbour had steps made up to his door. When he had more up-to-date ones made, I decided to upcycle one of them: it makes a great shelf to display our flowerpots. I spray painted mine and spruced up my potting bench in the same colour to match. Angela Whitworth, via email
