Go maximalist!
My spare room needed brightening up with a quick makeover. I am a tad obsessed with taking free wallpaper samples when in DIY stores and needed to find something to do with them. Hence I created a jungle themed feature wall for virtually nothing! Sue Toomer, via our newsletter
Tricia, Creative Design Lead says:What a clever way to use up those wallpaper samples, Sue. A maximalist look for less!
Tickled pink
I had a new downstairs loo installed. As it was all white, it seemed a little bland. So, I brought some lovely flamingo wallpaper (which was on sale!) then, I added new blingy accessories. Everyone who visits loves the new look. Kathy McGreal Kilgour, via our newsletter
Michelle, Homes Commissioning Editor says:
When in doubt, always opt for flamingos! You’ve don’t a great job of turning this small room into a showstopping space, Kathy.
Bespoke look
I got into upcycling a few years ago and when we decided to redecorate the lounge, I thought I’d change an IKEA unit into a TV console, to fit with the style of the room. After a few coats of Fusion paint and the addition of legs, cupboard doors and handles, I couldn’t be happier with the end result! Jenna Bodin-Galvez, Leeds
Rebecca, Digital Editor, says:I love how you shifted your perspective to create this lovely TV unit, Jenna. You really turned your old unit on its head!
