Celebrating those golden oldies

Because of improved care, horses are living longer, more active lives and are competing well into their 20s. Petplan Equine has recognised this with a special award, as well as insurance cover for true veterans

DUE TO HUGE improvements in management, care and veterinary medicine, horses are living active lives for much longer. Some insurance providers class horses as veterans from 15 or 16 years of age, even though, as most horse owners know, equines in their late teens and older are often still in full work and regularly out competing. Therefore it is important to double check if your policy still provides cover for illness and injury for your horse as they get older.

Petplan Equine recognises these advances and for owners who insure their horse on its horse insurance policy before they are 20 years of age, the company will continue to provide cover for illness and injury until their 25th birthday.
