Using yarn Aand the 4mm (US G/6) hook, make a magic ring and work into the ring as follows:
Round 1: 4ch (counts as 1tr and 1ch), *1tr, 1ch; rep from * a further 6 times, join with a sl st in third ch of 4ch. Fasten off. (8 tr and 8 ch-sp)
Round 2: Join yarn B in first ch-sp, 1ch, [1dc, 3tr, 1dc] in each ch-sp around, join with a sl st in first dc. Fasten off. (8 petals)
Round 3: On WS, join yarn C in lowest part of first dc of first petal, 1ch, *working into the WS of the sts (at the back of the petals), sl st in lowest part of first dc in petal, 4ch, sl st in lowest part of last dc in same petal; rep from * a further 7 times, join with a sl st in first sl st. (8 ch-sp)
Round 4: 1ch, *[1dc, 2tr] in next ch-sp, 2ch, sl st in first ch (picot made), [2tr, 1dc] in same ch-sp; rep from * a further 7 times, join with a sl st in back (WS) of first dc of the round. Fasten off. (8 petals made)
Round 5: With RS facing, working into the back (WS) of the last round of petals and folding petals down, one at a time, onto the RS so you can see where to insert the hook, work as follows: Join yarn D in lowest part of first dc on first petal, 3ch (counts as 1tr), 2tr in same place, 1ch, *3tr in lowest part of first dc on next petal, 1ch, [3tr, 2ch, 3tr] in lowest part of first dc on next petal, 1ch; rep from * twice more, 3tr in lowest part of first dc on next petal, 1ch, 3tr in same place as first 3tr, 2ch, join with a sl st in third ch of 3ch.
Round 6: 4ch (counts as 1tr and 1ch), *[3tr in next ch-sp, 1ch] twice, [3tr, 2ch, 3tr] in next ch-sp, 1ch; rep from * twice more, [3tr in next ch-sp, 1ch] twice, [3tr, 2ch, 2tr] in last ch-sp, join with a sl st in third ch of 4ch.
