Brighten your days with this colourful crocheted bag – it’s sturdy enough for carrying books or shopping

For the bag
Using yarn H and 5mm (US H/8) hook, work 63ch, and taking care not to twist the ch, join with a sl st in first ch to make a loop.
Round 1: 1ch (does not count as st), 1dc in each ch around, join with a sl st in first dc. Fasten off. (63 sts).
Round 2: Join yarn A in first dc, 3ch (counts as 1tr throughout), 2tr in same st, *1ch, skip 2 sts, 3tr in next st; rep from * to end, 1ch, join with a sl st in third ch of 3ch. Fasten off. (21, 3tr groups).
Round 3: Join yarn B in first ch-sp, 3ch, 2tr in same sp, *1ch, 3tr in next sp; rep from * to end, 1ch, join with a sl st in third ch of 3ch.
Fasten off.
Joining new yarn alternately in last ch-sp of previous round and first ch-sp of previous round, continue as set in Round 3 for a further 13 rounds changing yarn every round and working in the following colour sequence: C, D, E, F, G, H, G, F, E, D, C, B, A. Round 17: Change to yarn H and rep Round 3 but do not fasten off.
Rounds 18-19: Sl st in each of next 2tr and in ch-sp, *1ch, 3tr in ch-sp; rep from * to end, 1ch, join with a sl st in third ch of 3ch.
Rounds 20-22: 1ch, 1dc in each st around, join with a sl st in first dc.
Fasten off.
