Bridget’s back!

best for CELEBRITY

Bridget Jones fever is set to sweep across London this Spring – as filming of the fourth movie reportedly starts in May, while Renée Zellweger is looking for a home in the capital…

Rejoice, ladies – the one fictional character that most of us over 30 can relate to (even if we’re not single!) is about to be catapulted back into our lives…

Filming of the fourth instalment of the hit franchise Bridget Jones (about a lovelorn London ‘singleton’) is set to start filming in London soon – eight years after Bridget Jones’s Baby and more than two decades after the woman whose consumption of chardonnay and cigarettes, obsession with diaries and weighing scales and the owner of a mostly disastrous love life captured our hearts.

Bridget is constantly torn between Mark and Daniel...

The film is (obviously) once again starring the one and only Renée Zellweger – who many viewers didn’t even realise wasn’t British as she channelled the character so well – and she is said to be looking for a flat in the UK, along with British boyfriend Ant Anstead.

The 54-year-old American (also known for playing Judy Garland in 2019’s Judy) took the role so seriously, that she famously transformed her svelte body by gaining 30lbs for the first two movies – Bridget Jones’s Diary and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.

The new movie, co-written by creator Helen Fielding, is said be focused on the story of Bridget as a mother. The inspiration is apparently the 2013 novel, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, which saw the newly single mum try to balance raising her son while navigating dating apps.

...but finally wed Mark
