Victoria Beckham on why growing older has put a smile on her face

And as she moved into fashion following the Spice Girls split, Victoria Beckham’s image as the moody aloof one didn’t diminish - but were confidence issues really to blame?
‘In the past, I’ve always looked at those Red Carpet pictures of me and seen a woman who looks nervous and insecure,’ Victoria recently admitted. ‘Everyone else saw a woman who looked grumpy and stern — I suppose that’s how I got the reputation of being such a miserable cow.’
Now, amid the celebrations around her 50th birthday, the mum-of-four sees herself in a new light.
She revealed, ‘I looked at some pictures of myself recently and was really struck by how happy I looked.’
While bandmate Geri’s been rocked by scandal engulfing her racing boss husband Christian Horner and Mel B’s fought back following her abusive relationship, Victoria’s happily settled in her life as a designer, wife and devoted mum.
And she relishes knowing that now she’s calling the shots.
‘Generally, I feel good about things,’ she said. ‘I have better opportunities now than I did when I was younger.’
