Acts of terror against civilians, summary executions and forced labour were commonplace in German- occupied territories, but other nations were equally guilty of crimes against both prisoners of war and ordinary citizens. This issue reveals not just the ordinary brutality of war, but what can happen when political regimes begin purging humans they have labelled as ‘undesirable’.
