How becky plans to cash in on wagatha

Last July saw Rebekah Vardy’s career and reputation plummet when she lost her libel case against Coleen Rooney in what has been one of the most publicised court showdowns of the decade.

But in a new and surprising development, last week it was revealed that Becky, 41, has successfully trademarked the phrase “Wagatha Christie” – the term used for the media coverage of the trial.

Confirmed by her new management team, this latest shrewd move by the wife of former England striker Jamie Vardy means that anyone wishing to use the unique label for commercial purposes will have to seek the prior approval of Becky, who has the right to ask for payment for the privilege.

The trademark includes broadcasting, clothing, non-alcoholic beverages, education and beauty – and comes six months after Becky was ordered by a judge to pay up to £1.5 million towards Coleen’s legal costs.

What is undoubtedly set to be a bombshell for Coleen comes just a month after Becky also hit out at footballer Kyle Walker’s wife, Annie Kilner, calling her a “doormat” after her husband was accused of indecently exposing himself on a night out.
