Kate’s secret struggle

As their relentless schedules force them apart, insiders say it’s fuelling Kate Middleton and Prince William’s resentment towards Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Wearing a sunshine-yellow blazer to promote World Mental Health Day during a speech in Birmingham last week, Kate Middleton was supported by husband Prince William.

The couple’s show of unity marked the first time they’d worked together in weeks following a string of solo projects, as they are being increasingly torn apart by relentless schedules.

HUGE IMPACT

And now a source reveals how William, 41, and Kate, also 41 – who share Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and five-year-old Prince Louis together – are feeling “resentful” towards Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan Markle, 42, for abandoning their family when they moved to the States in 2020.

The insider says, “Kate and William are feeling incredibly resentful towards Meghan and Harry for leaving them to pick up the work they dropped when they moved to the States.

“The extra workload that’s been handed to them is huge. It’s given them even more responsibility, but also had a huge impact on their marriage and family life, and at times it can feel like they are cracking under this relentless pressure.

“With less time at home together and having to spend more time apart, they feel constantly torn apart in different directions and they insist that wouldn’t be happening if Harry and Meghan hadn’t abandoned their royal duties.”

Fans noted last month how William cut a lonely figure on his trip to New York, during which he visited several environmental projects to promote the Earthshot Prize, and said there had been “a touch of glamour” missing with Kate’s absence.

And last week, Kensington Palace confirmed that the dad-of-three will also attend the initiative’s Awards Ceremony in Singapore alone next month, with Kate staying at home to support Prince George through his school exams.

Over the last few weeks, Kate has also taken on several royal engagements as she continues to promote her work with Early Years education.

But while the strain on their family is clear as the couple continue to keep up their manic schedules, Harry and Meghan’s new Californian lifestyle couldn’t be more different.
