This follow up to Finding Derek (2021) and Caring For Derek (2022) sees Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway documenting the final year of husband Derek Draper’s life. With close access to Derek – who sadly passed away in January of this year – and Kate, it highlights the challenges faced by millions of people in the UK living with serious illness and disability and those who care for them. When asked why he wanted to take part in this film, Derek said, “I want to be heard”. His body was ravaged by Covid and he became the longest-surviving patient with Coronavirus. He died at the age of 56.
