Stephen Graham and Idris Elba is probably on every actor’s bucket list. But Lauryn Ajufo, who ticked both off before her 22nd birthday, insists her biggest ‘pinch me’ moment wasn’t filming Boiling PointorLuther: TheFallen

Sun. In fact, she’s sure it hasn’t happened yet. ‘Everything that’s happened so far, I’m so grateful for, but it’s still pending. I can feel it coming,’ Ajufo tells us. Perhaps she’s alluding to the release of Netflix’s Everything

Now (out this autumn), a drama about a teenage girl who’s thrust back into the world of sixth form following a battle with anorexia. Ajufo plays her best friend, Becca, the ‘mummy hen’ of the friendship group.

How would your friends describe you?

Bubbly. Funny. Really dramatic.

If you weren’t acting, what would you like to be doing?

It would be something in music. A radio host or in A&R (a talent scout). My number one music love will always be R&B. I saw SZA two days ago and she was amazing; I welled up when she started singing Supermodel. She’s a top performer for me.

What would be your dream role?

I’d love to play a princess or a queen. It would live up to my dramatic-ness! Most of my roles have been teenagers or young adults, so it would be nice to play something with a bit more depth.

Can you tell us a bit more about your Everything Now character?

I play Becca Lloyd, who’s Mia Polanco’s [the lead] best friend. She’s the mummy hen of the group who makes sure everyone’s behaving themselves! She likes to have a bit of fun but she sets a limit for herself.

Who did you learn more from working with: Stephen Graham or Idris Elba?

Oh wow, that’s a tough question. I learned a lot from Stephen. He’s like my TV dad. H
