This is the glacial valley no one’s heard of... Head to the South Pennines to explore both sides of this steep gulch between Burnley and Todmorden.

This route presents a more interesting way to climb one of the Lake District ’s best-known mountains, taking in several superb peaks along the way.

Complete this high-level circuit to bag five of the Lake District ’s Wainwrights – and finish with a well-deserved pint at the Kirkstile Inn.
