Family Traveller Magazine

A straw poll in the Family Traveller office revealed that some of our favourite family holidays have been right here at home. From frolicking on the white sandy beaches of the Isles of Scilly to charging up Arthur’s Seat to take in the view across Edinburgh during the Festival Fringe, it’s hard to beat the UK when the sun shines, or even when it doesn’t. And now that summer’s upon us, it’s time to make the most of our diverse British Isles. One of the best ways to enjoy the UK is by taking the kids around a beautiful garden. In our gorgeous July/August issue, we celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great British gardener, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, best known for landscaping around Blenheim Palace and Chatsworth, and show you the best UK gardens to explore with kids. We also show you how to get the most of the Lake District, which stars in the new BBC film version of Swallows & Amazons. You'll also find bucketfuls of UK holiday news, including a sneak peek at The New Tate Modern. But of course, we've still got our spirit of adventure and this issue we take you to Bhutan, on safari in the Seregeti and horse riding in Arizona. Plus, as a special treat, you can win a £6,000 holiday to Thailand!
