Pride is under attack, but it won’t be defeated. It won’t even experience that much of a dent. In fact, if they go loud, we’ll go even louder. And history will look back on this moment in years to come and show the right-wing bigotry, rampant transphobia and homophobia for what it is: a shameful and calculated spout of right-wing ideology that is as abhorrent as it is a farce. We have to remain unified. We have to remain organised. And as sugary as the sentiment may sound, we have to continue spreading the message that love beats hate. Ultimately that’s a 2 message that has to prevail – for the sake of all humanity.
