INSPIRING ROYALS

What a fabulous edition of GH, especially the interviews with The Queen Consort, The Princess of Wales, The Countess of Wessex, The Princess Royal, The Duchess of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra (Thinking Of Others At Christmas, Christmas and New Year). These women understand their great privilege, work hard and give back to our country.

BE MORE FORGIVING

As I read the Christmas and New Year edition, with lots of positive messages from members of The Royal Family and others, my wish is that we could all be nicer and more forgiving. Let’s make 2023 the year of forgiveness; not the year of recrimination.

LOOK OUT FOR ONE ANOTHER

The Art Of Spreading Kindness (Inner You, Christmas and New Year) really resonated with me. I joined the St Albans branch of the women’s organisation Soroptimist International 25 years ago. Being part of something bigger helps you to know that many acts of kindness multiplied by all of the members make a big difference in the world. In our local club, we look out for one another.

SEIZE THE MOMENT

I enjoyed reading about Suzy and David Bradley’s decision to live in their motor home and travel around Europe (Personal Journey, Christmas and New Year). That is what my husband John and I did. We had to return to the UK when John began to feel ill and I was widowed at 52. The best six months of our lives were spent on the road together. If you want to do something, don’t put it off – you never know what will happen.
