H e was once considered Britain’s most eligible bachelor but the 7th Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor, is now off the market after announcing his engagement.

The billionaire aristocrat – the nation’s 13th-richest man, according to the Sunday Times Rich List – shared the happy news after proposing to girlfriend Olivia Henson at Eaton Hall in Cheshire, his family’s ancestral home.

“Members of both families are absolutely delighted by the news,” the couple said in a statement.

Hugh, 32, who is a godson of the King and godfather to Prince George, became the 7th Duke in 2016, following the death of his father Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor, who was Britain’s third richest man at the time. As well as the title, Hugh inherited his father’s £9.3bn fortune and vast property empire, including 300 acres of prime property across London’s Mayfair and Belgravia, estates in Oxford and Scotland and investments in 60 cities around the world, including in California’s Silicon Valley.

He is said to have met Olivia, who works for ethical food company Belazu, through friends two years ago.

STELLAR GUEST LIST

Although a wedding date is yet to be announced, it is likely to be a decidedly royal affair. As well as his ties to the King, Hugh is good friends with the Prince and Princess of Wales, and there may even be an official role for nine-year-old George on the day.

The late Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, Prince William and Prince Harry were among the guests when Hugh’s sister Lady Tamara, 43, married Edward van Cutsem, another close friend of the royals, in 2004.
