POP ROYALTY RULES THE RED CARPET AS THEY SEND FANS INTO A FRENZY OF EXCITEMENT
They are two of the most popular – and powerful – women in music so when Beyoncé made a surprise appearance to support Taylor Swift at the premiere of her concert film, the excitement was off the charts.
As 2,200 screaming Swifties flocked to The Grove shopping centre in Los Angeles for the screening of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, the 33-year-old princess of pop posed for photographs alongside fellow showbiz royalty Bey.
Glamorous in a baby blue floorlength Oscar de la Renta gown, Cruel Summer singer Taylor could not have looked happier. Beyoncé, 42, also cut a stylish figure, opting for a metallic silver custom breastplate from LaQuan Smith on top of a black catsuit and dark leather platform boots.
“I’m so glad I’ll never know what my life would’ve been like without @beyonce’s influence,” Taylor wrote on Instagram later. “The way she’s taught me and every artist out here to break rules and defy industry norms. Her generosity of spirit. Her resilience and versatility. She’s been a guiding light throughout my career and the fact that she showed up tonight was like an actual fairytale.”
Other stars at the screening included Law & Order actress Mariska Hargitay and actor Adam Sandler.
Taylor had hand-picked every fan who went to the premiere, which documents one of her recent six soldout Eras Tour concerts at California’s SoFi stadium. The tour, which reaches the UK next year, is tipped to become the first in history to gross $1bn (£818m) and the film has already amassed $100m in presale tickets.
