CELEBRATING HIS 18 THBIRTHDAY IN STYLE
IS JOINED BY ROYALS FROM AROUND EUROPE FOR A DAZZLING DINNER DANCE
Aglittering, tiara-filled gala at Christiansborg Castle for the 18th birthday of Prince Christian of Denmark gave a glimpse into royalty of the future as Queens-in-waiting from around Europe joined reigning monarchs at the celebrations.
Among the guests at one of Copenhagen’s most spectacular royal residences on 15 October were Sweden’s Princess Estelle, Belgium’s Crown Princess Elisabeth, and the Princess of Orange – Crown Princess Catharina-Amalia from the Netherlands – and her sister Princess Alexia.
PEAK FORMALITY
The invitation stated the dress code as “galla B”, meaning ballgown, uniforms, white tie, gowns, decorations and honours, and those who made grand entrances did not disappoint. Crown Princess of Mette-Marit of Norway was seated alongside Prince Christian during the dinner, joined by his parents: the heir to the throne Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, and his grandmother and host Queen Margrethe.

“It feels really good to be surrounded by so many peers. Tonight is new for all of us.”
