Billowing gowns, bold beauty and hot Barbie pink made this year’s Golden Globes in Beverly Hills a glittering occasion attended by Hollywood’s A-listers.

Proving her sartorial star power, Jennifer Lopez – there to support husband Ben Affleck, whose film Air was nominated for Best Musical or Comedy – bloomed in blush Nicole + Felicia Couture, featuring statement sleeves.

WHAT A DOLL

Continuing the colour theme, Margot Robbie wore a hot-pink gown by Armani Privé inspired by Mattel’s 1977’s Superstar Barbie doll, together with make-up “lightly leaning into Barbie with a lot of healthy, warm skin and a soft Barbie touch”, said her makeup artist Pati Dubroff. Adding extra sparkle were Lorraine Schwartz diamond studs and a diamond and pink diamond ring that together are worth, Neil Dutta of jewellery company Angelic Diamonds, tells hello!,, “an impressive $3m [£2.36m]”.

Oppenheimer star Florence Pugh, in sheer Valentino with Tiffany & Co jewels, made a redhot charge in the style stakes alongside model Heidi Klum, wearing scarlet Sophie Couture, and The Bear actress Ayo Edebiri, who wore a satin Prada gown to pick up her Best Actress in a Comedy Series award.

Discussing the show’s success with hello! backstage, Ayo – last week confirmed as a Bafta Rising Star nominee – said: “People have been craving good comedy but now studios are realising that audiences are intelligent.”

Elsewhere on the red carpet, singer Taylor Swift – marking her fifth Golden Globe nomination, this time for her documentary Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour – stepped out in emerald Gucci but without her American footballer star boyfriend Travis Kelce, despite fans hoping the pair would choose the night to make their relationship “redcarpet official”.
