Aglittering line-up of A-listers lit up the red carpet at the annual Bafta Tea Party in Los Angeles. 

The exclusive event saw famous faces from some of the year’s biggest films and TV shows put on their glad rags for an afternoon of mingling, lobster tacos and strawberry pistachio pavlova.

Among them was Phoebe Dynevor, who has been nominated for this year’s Bafta Rising Star Award following her role as Daphne in the Netflix period drama Bridgerton.

Looking like a perfect English rose in a cream Victoria Beckham midi dress, the actress opened up about her family – her parents are Coronation Street star Sally and Emmerdale scriptwriter Tim, while her sister Hattie is also an actress. Phoebe told HELLO!:: “We actually, weirdly, keep ourselves pretty separate. We are doing such different things in the industry, but we all do follow by example.

“But I have always looked up to my mum and how she navigates being on a soap for so many years and I think my sister does the same with me, hopefully.”

Also flying the flag for Britain at The Maybourne Beverly Hills hotel was Carey Mulligan – later Bafta nominated for her performance in Bradley Cooper’s Maestro – who nailed the sherbet-lemon trend in an oversized blazer and matching trousers from The Row.

AWARD HOPES

Her Saltburn co-star Rosamund Pike, meanwhile, wowed in a whimsical Simone Rocha number, complete with a fitted bodice and blush-pink roses.

Discussing the film’s success, she said: “I would love it if this film got love from Bafta because it is so British, the film is so British, and sometimes the Brits are not good at celebrating their own.”
