As one of America’s biggest pop culture icons, it may come as no surprise to learn that Paris Hilton pulled out all the stops for her son Phoenix’s milestone first birthday.
In honour of the special occasion, the TV personality, who welcomed her first child with husband Carter Reum via a surrogate, threw a starstudded Sliving Under the Seathemed birthday bash with all the trimmings you’d expect.
“Sliving” is a portmanteau word coined by Paris, meaning: “slaying and living your best life”.
“Under the Sea” is a nod to the 2023 Disney film The Little Mermaid, and in keeping with the mermaidcore trend there were balloon displays inspired by the tropical ocean. An impressive blue balloon arch was flanked by giant coral seahorses, while there were also oversized inflatables of pearlescent bubbles and tentacle-like seaweed.
Paris, 42, also bedecked her sprawling back garden with pearlstudded clams, multicoloured fish, mermaid statues and a larger-thanlife whale balloon.
ICING ON THE CAKE
Decorations aside, Paris, who shot to fame alongside fellow socialite Nicole Richie in the 2000s in reality show The Simple Life,, served up a spectacular spread complete with wood-fired pizza, mocktails served in clamshaped glasses and crepes topped with sprinkles, chocolate, fresh fruit and whipped cream. But the cherry on top was Phoenix’s majestic blue birthday cake, encrusted with an assortment of icing shells and garnished with a silvery seahorse.
For the aquatic extravaganza, Paris upped her sartorial game, embodying a Disney princess in a billowing skyblue dress dappled with white clouds. She accessorised with a tiara and a matching silver star necklace.
Phoenix, meanwhile, stole the show in a Fendi polo shirt, teeny suit trousers and a camel flat cap.
