With her much-copied “Rachel” haircut and impeccable comedy timing, Friends star Jennifer Aniston has accumulated a huge following over the years. And her 55th birthday last week was a reminder that the popular actress has found her groove as she balances the various facets of her busy life.

To mark the occasion, Jennifer treated her 45.3m Instagram followers to a montage of candid clips and glamorous snapshots offering a glimpse into her life, both on and off the screen.

Alongside a string of nostalgic 1990s photos, she posted videos of herself bonding with her rescue dog Lord Chesterfield and behindthe-scenes footage from glossy photoshoots. Captioning the post, the We’re the Millers actress wrote: “Grateful,” followed by a moving poem by Stanley Kunitz that touches on themes including change, sorrow and hope.

And a number of famous faces were quick to add heartfelt messages. Fellow actress and lifestyle guru Gwyneth Paltrow wrote: “Could not love you more. Happy happy [birthday] you gorgeous human being!”, while The Morning Show costar Reese Witherspoon wrote: “Happy Birthday to the greatest friend / partner / TV sister I could ever hope for! I love you”.
