With their Easter break coming to an end, the Prince of Wales treated his elder son Prince George to a night at the football.

Father and son travelled to Villa Park in Birmingham to watch their beloved Aston Villa defeat Lille 2-1 in the first leg of the Europa Conference League quarter-final.

George, ten, who wore a claret and blue Villa scarf, could be seen smiling and cheering alongside his dad as they applauded Ollie Watkins’s opening goal.

It was the first public sighting of them both since the news of the Princess of Wales’s cancer treatment and the outing proves how much Kate and William are focused on keeping things as normal as possible for George and his siblings Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, who turns six next week.

FAITHFUL FANS

The two future Kings are keen football players as well as fans and have frequently been seen in the stands at Aston Villa and England games.
