Dean hatches a sinister plan to keep Jade close this week, after his daughter announces she’s off to live with mum Shabnam in Pakistan!
Jade’s presence in Albert Square has been playing perfectly to Dean’s advantage. Capitalising on his offspring’s illness in order to garner sympathy, Dean’s been giving it the devoted father act in the hope of rebuilding his reputation among the locals. So you can imagine his horror when Jade suddenly declares she’s decided to leave London and move thousands of miles away…
“This is the worst possible news as far as Dean is concerned,” shares our Walford insider. “He’s just got Jade back and now she’s disappearing off again. The only way Dean can stop her going halfway round the world is by playing dirty, though of course, that’s second nature to someone like him.”
Distance is exactly what Jade is craving, having rapidly grown exhausted of Dean’s overbearing nature and strict rules regarding who she can and can’t spend time with.
As the week begins, the teen seizes the opportunity for some much-needed freedom by trying to set her overprotective parent up on a date with newcomer Fern. Her matchmaking works a treat, and Dean and Fern arrange to have dinner together at Walford East.
Dean’s hopes of romance are kiboshed, though, when Amy spies him with Fern and realises they’re on a first date. Sickened by the sight of him trying to charm another unsuspecting female into bed, Amy storms over and fills Fern in all the details of Dean’s murky past.
