Overlooked XE

Having driven company-issued German cars for many years, late last year I made the swap to owner-driver and replaced my 3-Series with a Jaguar XE. Quite frankly I wish I’d made the switch sooner; the Jaguar’s ride is just so much more civilised on British roads than the knobbly BMW. Since buying the car though, I’ve been told that the supercharged V6 is in fact something of a rarity. I know the engine is no longer offered, but is this true? John Rabetts

The V6 S is indeed rare, being made for little over a year. DVLA figures suggest just under 1000 examples were registered in the UK. See the feature on the similarly powered F-Type in this issue and you’ll see that it remains one of our favourite XE models. Ed
