MkX Clutch master cylinder
SNG Barratt is now stocking the Lockheed original equipment clutch master cylinder for the Jaguar MkX 4.2 (part number C25003), which has previously been unavailable for several years. Priced at £110.21 including VAT.
Drain plugs
SNG Barratt has recently released an aftermarket engine sump drain plug that can be fitted to the E-type, XJ Series 1-3, XJ40, X300 and XJS. They say they have addressed the problems seen on many reproduction versions of sump drain plugs, such as poorly formed threads. The new design incorporates the original cone-shaped machining, which prevents the washer from skewing off centre when tightening.
Their reproduction drain plug (part number C23435*) costs £6.64 including VAT, but they also sell a genuine Jaguar sump plug for £9.06 including VAT (part number C23435) and a magnetic alternative (part number C23435/M) for £15.01.
Extra-deep sockets
New from Laser is this set of 16 extra-deep chrome vanadium sockets, which feature a six-sided (hex) profile and are each 120mm deep, so they are designed to reach recessed fastenings.
The set includes 3/8” drive sockets from 6mm to 18mm and three ½” drive sockets from 19mm to 21mm. Also in the set is a 3/8” drive to ½” drive adaptor and a ¼” drive to 3/8” drive adaptor.

E-Type coilovers
Martin Robey is selling a choice of three coilovers for the rear suspension on the Series 1 and 2 E-type. With the dampers being manufactured by SPAX and GAZ, each coilover is assembled at Martin Robey’s premises, with the dust cover and body of the damper finished in OE Girling Grey (also available in black for the SPAX units).
The SPAX dampers are a fixed rate, whereas the GAZ units have an adjuster knob on the body, which adjusts bump and rebound with 30 different settings. This can be adjusted in situ, so there’s no need to remove the units to change their settings. Parts can be purchased separately, and discounts are available for Privilege card holders.
