Hello & a warm welcome to our fabulous, festive issue!

Liz Earle MBE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

Thank you for being part of the wonderful Liz Earle Wellbeing community. It’s so great to share good things and I especially love seeing all your posts and photos, so do keep them coming.

My big news has been the announcement of my new book A Better Second Half: Dial Back Your Age to Live a Longer, Healthier, Happier Life, out next April but available to pre-order now. See page 117 for details of how you can reserve your early copy (or early Christmas present!) to be among the first to receive it. I’m enjoying getting back to some in-depth writings on how to live well for longer and thrive in later life. So important for us all. Speaking of ageing well, my old friend Gaby Roslin reveals for us her wellness wisdom for a ‘better second half’ and I loved reading TV’s Julia Bradbury’s take on walking as mindful meditation (she has some great ideas on where to go, too).

As well as brilliant advice for ageing well and staying strong, we’ve packed this issue with ways to feel festively fabulous. From heart-healthy tips for avoiding coronary heart disease (still a major killer of midlife and older women) to helpful hypnosis techniques and an excellent face-gym workout to revitalise puffy party faces… Speaking of beauty ideas, don’t miss the indomitable India Knight’s guide to luscious lip-plumpers, as well as our Editor’s definitive guide to self-defence for our complexions in these colder climes.

Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without some delicious festive fare and I’m definitely going to be making the pecan stuffing to add to my family’s table, alongside the wonderful winter salad of pear, walnuts and blue cheese on page 51. And don’t miss our sexy feel-good food too – dark chocolate, raspberry and walnut brownies anyone? Unmissable!

If you’re stuck for present ideas, we’ve got it covered with our good gift guide, packed with wellness ideas that are sure to surprise and delight fr
