WHO IS MORGAN PICKSTOCK?

A 15-year-old who loves riding bicycles! I love the feeling of learning something new on my bike and progressing my riding. It makes me super-stoked to see other people progressing with the support I’ve given them, too.

WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

A town called Holywell in North Wales. I’m lucky to have quite a few local spots where you can get creative. The trails here are very good to improve your MTB skills, and Deeside skate park is 15 minutes away for the tricks.

FAVOURITE PLACE TO RIDE?

Revolution Bike Park was sick. I’d just started riding there, and then it closed! Antur Stiniog is awesome and the Oakley line at Dyfi Bike Park is a blast, too. Farmer Johns MTB Park is one of my local spots – I first went there on my 13th birthday and remember being scared to hit the big tables! I try to ride local as much as possible, because bike parks can be expensive. My top skate parks are Deeside, Adrenaline Alley [Corby], Greystone [Salford] and Junction 4 [Blackburn]. HOW DID YOU GET INTO MTBING?

My uncle Gareth taught me to bunnyhop. I saved my birthday money and got a £150 Claud Butler. When I’d outgrown it, I gave it to someone who wanted to start MTB and got a Carrera. I learned so many skills on that in lockdown, through watching YouTube. Me and my dad had matching Carreras, and my mum and sister had matching ones, too. Ffi and I taught our parents some basic MTB skills!

IS IT COOL HAVING A SIBLING TO RIDE WITH?

Yeah, it’s pretty great, because we’ve always got the other’s company, and we definitely push each other. Doing trains with Ffi is so sick because I get to see her progress, too. We’re quite competitive when learning tricks. It’s pretty cool we’re on this journey together.

WHO’S YOUR INSPIRATION?

That’s hard! If you mean pros, Ems Davies, Kaos Seagrave, Kade Edwards, Shaun Gornall, Kevin Peraza, Vero Sandler, Sam Hodgson and Harry Schofield. I’m really lucky to have got to know most of these inspiring and humble people, too. Riding with good mates inspires me, as well, and my family always get me hyped to ride, no matter what.

WHAT DOES MOUNTAIN BIKING MEAN TO YOU?

The world! If I didn’t do this, I’m not sure what I’d be doing.

WHAT BIKES ARE YOU RIDING?

A Vitus Sommet 297 CR, which we saved and saved for, and a Bergamont jump bike I bought from one of my good mates, Dylan. Shaun Gornall kindly gave me my
