We’re Rewatching…

Our favourite screen adaptations of books, to celebrate the Oscars being held just three days after World Book Day.

There have been countless film versions of novels made over the years, but three of our favourites were not only Oscar-winning, but were also, in our opinion, just as good as the excellent books they were based on. They are Brooklyn (based on the Colm Tóibín novel), Atonement (written by Ian McEwan) and Greta Gerwig’s version of Little Women (by Louisa May Alcott). What’s your favourite book to film adaptation? Let us know.

We’re Hugging…

Mums everywhere on Mother’s Day on March 10! If you’re a mum, we hope you have chance to put your feet up and enjoy a relaxing day dedicated to celebrating all the hard work you do!

Eat chocolate, have a glass of bubbly and allow yourself to be pampered – you deserve it.

We’re Cleaning…

But using modern gadgets rather than old-fashioned elbow grease!

If you feel in the mood for doing a bit of spring cleaning why not try out these new brushes from household experts Beldray?

They’re part of their new Deep Clean collection, which offers a wide range of multifunctional products to take on different tasks, with a precision cleaning tool for every room in the home!

We’re so excited to try these . . . and we never thought we’d get excited about housework!

We’re Wishing…

It’s two for the price of one as we send birthday wishes to twins Craig and Charlie Reid on March 5.

Better known as the Proclaimers, the Edinburgh-based duo have enjoyed success in the charts, in the theatre (their songs inspired the musical Sunshine On Leith) and on the big screen, with their music featuring in several soundtracks. Classics such as Letter To America, I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles), Sunshine on Leith and Let’s Get Married are loved down the generations.

We Lists…

It’s Mother’s Day on March 10, so here (in no particular order!) are some of our favourite books featuring a strong mum as a main character. Not surprisingly, lots of plots revolve around mothers. Do you have a favourite fictional mum? Tell us about her!

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

Life After Life by Kate Atkinson

Grown Ups by Marian Keyes

Before My Actual Heart Breaks by Tish Delan
