We’re Wishing…

A very happy birthday to British actress Lesley Manville, who turns 68 on March 12. The undoubted star of our two favourite films about dressmaking – Phantom Thread in 2017 and Mrs Harris Goes To Paris in 2022 – the talented Ms Manville began her career as a soprano singer and dancer and turned down the chance to join TV dance act Hot Gossip!

We’re Dozing…

Napping and having a long, deep slumber to celebrate World Sleep Day on March 15. This day encourages people to look at their sleeping habits and to try to improve them.

Sleep is so important to good health, in the same way that nutrition and physical activity are, and research shows that a good night’s sleep helps support memory and learning, as well as boosting the immune system. The average adult should aim to get between seven and nine hours a night. So relax, get cosy, and let yourself drift off . . .

We’re Eating…

We’re Toasting…

To all things Irish on St Patrick’s Day on March 17. Surely one of the most celebrated of saints’ days, this has turned into quite the party night (particularly among students) and sees shops, bars and restaurants go green for the day. Head over to Dublin for a mini-break if you want the full St Patrick’s Day experience. Failing that, have a glass of Guinness or Baileys and listen to U2 and Boyzone on repeat!
