We’re Eating…
Jersey Royals, that most perfect of potatoes, currently in season in the UK and the main ingredient of the BEST EVER potato salad. Simply cook them, drain them, then add some chopped spring onions, fresh herbs, mayonnaise, and a sprinkling of salt and pepper for a bowl of goodness that is supposedly a side dish to other things, but frankly, deserves to be a meal all by itself!
We’re Applauding…
Singer, songwriter and superstar Paloma Faith, who is out on tour this month and may well be playing at a venue near you – Sheffield, Manchester, Plymouth and Bristol are the lucky locations this week. Paloma is one of the more inspiring women in the music industry, brought up by a single mum (who is Spanish – Paloma’s name means “dove”) and now raising her own two children alone. All this on top of writing and recording some top tunes, including the classic Only Love Can Hurt Like This. Go, Paloma!
We’re Wishing…
Happy birthday to Irish actress Saoirse Ronan, one of our all-time faves, who will be celebrating her big 3-0 on April 12. No offence to Saoirse, but it’s hard to believe she’s only turning 30! She’s been acting since she was nine, has been nominated for an Oscar an incredible four times, and has starred in a host of amazing films, including Atonement, Brooklyn, Lady Bird and most recently The Outrun, about recovery from addiction. The kind of CV that puts other actors to shame!
