Dear Readers, In the new issue of our POLO&LUXURY Magazine we take you on a journey from Beijing to Buenos Aires, continuing to St. Moritz and ending in Texas. There is plenty going on in the polo sports scene in China. Promoted by our friend Xia Yang, the Chinese are currently launching a project with students from various provinces being intensively trained in polo for six months at a time at the Sunny Times Polo Club in Beijing. Three of the first graduates were allowed to share a position in the Chinese team at the International Beijing Polo Open. In the exclusive interview – the first one granted to a western magazine by the Chinese Horse Industry Association (CHIA) – Gaofeng Yue, secretary general of CHIA, talked to us about the Chinese polo scene and the government’s recent efforts in equestrian sport and in particular the promotion of polo sports. The Triple Crown is the season highlight for the world’s best players. We met the 10-goaler Nicolás Pieres during the first tournament of the Triple Crown series. The victory of his Ellerstina Team there was the first step towards the goal of the season because together with his three brothers Pablo, Gonzalo and Facundo he has the victory at the Palermo Open in sight. The St. Moritz Polo on Snow World Cup is fast approaching. As media partner of this top event, we will be there in January. As a warm-up, we took a look at the economic factor that the St. Moritz Snow Polo World Cup and the White Turf have for St. Moritz and the region.
