IT’S A REAL thrill to be writing this as the new group editor of Practical Caravan, a magazine that I have long enjoyed reading under the stewardship of my predecessors Rob Ganley and Nigel Donnelly. They’ve left behind some pretty big shoes, and I shall do my very best to fill them. For me, caravanning has always been about friends and families getting together to have a great time, so it’s no coincidence that family trips – and family vans – are the focus of this issue. Happily, my two kids have caught the bug as much as I have, and they loved coming along to join the fun for our Reader Rally at Stowford Farm Meadows in May (see page 44). It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible on site soon – if you see me, do feel free to head over and say hello! Alastair Clements
