The 10th Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show delivered another epic three days between March 24-26 at the NEC.

The classic car clubs in particular were out in force, with some superhuman restoration activity and brilliant demonstrations. The National Car Club Awards celebrated incredible work: Ray Newell of the Morris Minor Owners’ Club received a lifetime achievement award and Freddie St George CBE and the team from The Italian Job charity won the award for charitable endeavour (more than £3 million raised for kids’ charities in 40 years).

The Gay Classic Car Club, Morris Marina Owners’ Club, Jowett Car Club and Club Klasyczna all won prizes for their amazing efforts at the show. Meanwhile, Classic Car Auctions’ biggest-ever sale saw strong business done – and £4276 raised for Prostate Cancer UK with the sale of PC’s Rover 3500 V8. In Practical Classics World, Daniel Rooney won the Golden Spanner and became Halfords Restorer of the Year with his Mini, lined up next to previous winners of Britain’s only home restoration comp.

Jowett Car Club won the ‘best live working’ award at the show for reviving a Javelin that last ran in 1966.

PC’s cars were on display and, of course, we built a car over the weekend; Matt Tomkins’ Countryman, from a kit of parts to a running car.

Celebs on the Your Shout stage included Steph Holloway, Richard Hammond, Sarah Crabtree, Paul Cowland, Dominic Chinea, Ant Anstead and Sheldon Nichols. Despite a quiet Sunday, numbers were up across the weekend – 26,912 fans rocked up. Next year is already in the diary… see you on March 21-23, 2025.

Danny says Our

‘Ten years ago we had an idea and, with our friends and partners at Clarion, we made it happen. Two big shout-outs: to Andrea Seed, the dynamic driving force behind every event; and to the Jowett Club, who’ve embodied the spirit of the PC Resto Show from day one – always amazing in their above-and-beyondness.’
